I track how long-running currents of not-only-human landscape formation in New York’s Hudson Valley play out in the present and bear upon possible futures. How has this specific regional history promoted the flourishing of some and not others? My research occurs largely in Esopus Munsee territory and focuses primarily on small-scale animal agriculture and mobilizations against invasive species. In addition to anthropology, I rely on training in field ecology, feminist science studies, and critical race and ethnic studies.
